Strategic Ecommerce is an Australian company with its head office located in Adelaide, South Australia. Strategic Ecommerce has been operating since November 1999.
Strategic Ecommerce was a pioneer of the Australian ecommerce and eprocurement industries. For much of the first five years of the business the main focus was on the StraightBUY government e-procurement business. However, in the last two years the focus has swung around to StraightSELL as this business has showed strong growth.
Straightsell is an ASP ecommerce shopping cart solution, web site content management, contact management and email campaign management tool rolled-into one.
StraightSELL was substantially redeveloped during 2006 and now offers a number of advantages over other ecommerce solutions in the market:
- It offers a large amount of flexibility when compared with other solutions in terms of designs that can be implemented in StraightSELL, the fields that can be supported throughout the application and also the rules and workflows that can be applied in the application. Although it is hard to expain this to clients the StraightSELL Custom Objects module almost changes the whole face of StraightSELL from an ecommerce application to an ecommerce application development tool with which you can build your own web based applications;
- It combines website content management, customer relationship management and email campaign management with its core B2C and B2B ecommerce functionality to provide a wholistic solution to clients so that they can manage all aspects of their website and ebusiness through the one package;
- The third point of difference is the Catalogue Link middleware integration tool that we have for integrating StraightSELL with accounting, inventory management and CRM solutions used by our clients. Not only does StraightSELL integrate to most of the main mid tier and enterprise level packages it also provides a deep level of integration to each package to reduce manual processes and improve the way the two packages work together.
Straightsell is usually sold as an ASP solution meaning our clients that choose this option do not have to worry about providing or maintaining the servers on which their ecommerce web site runs. However, it is possible for larger clients to host their StraightSELL sites themselves if they wish using either a SQL Server or MySQL database with a FreeBSD web server.
The StraightSELL solution and its integration capability has developed to a point where it can be used to strip massive amounts of costs out of the running of distribution businesses.
In the future StraightSELL will be used more and more to build custom web applications for clients that use the web to automate client interactions that now rely on manual data transfers and communications. Some of this will be pretty exciting as we will be building ground breaking websites with unprecedented levels of integration to a wide range of legacy systems used by our clients to perform many functions.
